Custom Marketplace Development
B2B, B2B2C or B2C: we master the entire technical chain. Multi-vendor architecture, split payment, KYC and regulatory compliance. Since 2010, with Symfony, Sylius and Magento.
Building a marketplace is far more than installing a multi-vendor plugin. It is a project in its own right, with its own business rules, regulated financial flows, seller interfaces, commission logic and scalability demands. This is precisely what we have been doing for years, with real clients and real payment providers.
For over 15 years, Sutunam has designed and developed complex multi-vendor marketplaces. Our projects span the three main marketplace models, B2B, B2B2C and B2C, with real payment integrations on Stripe Connect, HiPay and PayPal. Our Open Source approach with Symfony, Sylius and Magento guarantees total flexibility and limitless scalability.
Models we cover
Three models, one shared expertise
Every marketplace model follows different business logic. Our experience spans all three.
Consumer marketplace
Individual buyers, professional or private sellers. Smooth buying experience, optimised conversion, unified multi-vendor catalogue.
Business to business
Buyer-specific catalogues, account management, quotes, custom pricing terms, order approval workflows.
Hybrid model
Corporate clients and their own end users. Complex role management, multi-partner SSO, dedicated spaces per organisation.

The technical challenge few agencies have solved
One order, multiple sellers, multiple product types
On a multi-vendor marketplace with heterogeneous products, the basket is the easy part. The complexity is everything that happens behind it: packaging, logistics, timeframes and costs all calculated differently for each product type, within one single order.
Real example: Sevellia.com
Fresh + dry in a single basket
A single order can contain fresh products and dry goods, from different sellers, with completely different logistics. The buyer only ever sees one journey.
Packaging driven by product type
Insulated box and cool pack for fresh items. Standard carton for dry goods. Costs calculated separately and aggregated into the total.
Heterogeneous delivery times
Fresh products require next-day delivery. Dry goods can ship within three days. The buyer sees a clear timeframe for each segment.
Different carriers per segment
Cold-chain certified carrier for fresh items, standard carrier for dry goods. Shipping calculated per seller and per type.
Unified buyer experience
One basket, one payment, one summary. All the back-end complexity is invisible to the buyer.
This challenge was solved on Sevellia.com, the organic marketplace acquired and operated by Sutunam. We did not theorise the solution: we built it, deployed it and ran it.
Payment integrations
Marketplace payment gateways
Payment is the beating heart of any marketplace. We have integrated three major gateways, with all the complexity that entails: connected accounts, regulated fund flows, split refund handling and compliant seller onboarding.
Each integration has its own quirks. Stripe Connect and PayPal give you worldwide coverage, while HiPay is a strong fit for European marketplaces with fine-grained wallet and KYC management. Stripe Connect also imposes its own account logic (Standard, Express, Custom). We have worked through these complexities on real projects, not in theory. On LS-occasions.fr we also connected financing directly to Crédit Agricole, with real-time simulation on the product page.
Technologies
Our technical stacks
We choose technology based on business needs, not the other way around. Symfony and Sylius for complex custom architectures, Magento 2 when catalogue richness is at the core of the project.
Sylius is an Open Source e-commerce platform built on Symfony, designed for projects that demand deep customisation. It combines robust e-commerce features with a headless architecture and a native REST API. We built LS-occasions.fr, a car marketplace synchronising 50+ dealer inventories, entirely on Sylius and Symfony.
Headless architecture
Integration with mobile apps or modern front-end interfaces (React, Vue.js). Full decoupling between back-end and front-end.
Native features
Seller management, automated commissions, dashboard, ratings, disputes: everything is extensible without starting from scratch.
BDD and code quality
Behavior-Driven Development: every feature is specified in scenarios readable by everyone, turned into automated tests.
AI in the service of your marketplace
Beyond development, AI opens up new possibilities: rapid prototyping, product content automation, seller flow optimisation.
